Investigators with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two people on charges of identity theft.
Deputies arrested Kayla Michelle Quick, 18, and Roy Lee Mathis, 19, both of the 300 block of Wallace McLean Road, on charges of financial card theft, identity theft and felony conspiracy.
Deputies responded to the 300 block of Wallace McLean Road earlier this month in regards to a report of fraud. A woman advised authorities there were multiple transactions on her bank statement that she did not authorize, including online purchases and multiple large amounts of cash withdrawals, according to the sheriff’s office.
During the investigation, law enforcement identified Quick and Mathis as suspects in the cast. They were questioned and then taken into custody.
The incidents allegedly took place between January 6 and February 7. The two suspects were taken into custody February 11 and held under $3,000 unsecured
