Investigators with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office assisted law enforcement agents in finding and arresting a man from Florida wanted for allegedly killing his 77-year-old grandfather.
Authorities arrested Scottie Ray Manuel, 33, of Branford, Florida on homicide charges in the death of his grandfather, Wayne Curtis Manuel, also of Branford. Investigators responded to a residence Tuesday, February 18 in Suwannee County, Florida and found the senior citizen dead in the home. Detectives identified Manuel’s grandson as a suspect in the case.
The U.S. Marshalls Service Fugitive Task Force and Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office deputies tracked Manuel to Hoke County. With the assistance of the Hoke Sheriff’s Office, authorities located and arrested Scottie Ray Manuel Friday, February 21.
Manuel was detained at the Hoke County Detention Center pending extradition back to Florida.
