Schools encourage parents to use PowerSchool app for accessing student grades

A message from Hoke County Schools about student report cards:

Due to school buildings being closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, 3rd Quarter Report Cards will not be sent home.  Instead, 3rd Quarter Grades will be available to parents in PowerSchool beginning Wednesday, April 15, 2020.  In order to access student grades, parents will need to sign in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal or PowerSchool Mobile App.

PowerSchool states that the PowerSchool Mobile App is designed to “improve parent engagement and student accountability with easy, instant access to real-time student performance from any Android or iOS device, including Apple Watch.” The PowerSchool Mobile App can be downloaded in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play Store.

Why download the App?

Benefits include the ability to:

  • Receive real-time push notifications with updates about grades, scores, and attendance.
  • Receive email notifications for assignments, teacher comments, daily bulletins, schedules, and fee transactions.
  • Access all of your children in one portal.

Parents or guardians can also access PowerSchool through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The PowerSchool Parent Portal provides the same access to student information as the PowerSchool Mobile App.  PowerSchool Parent Portal is an online portal that is accessible anywhere on the web.

How can I create a Parent Account in PowerSchool?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice of social distancing, and school building closures at this time, parents or guardians can contact the school, by phone, that his/her child attends and speak with the Data Manager of the school to receive guidance in the creation of the account.

The Data Manager may provide help directly over the phone to the parent or guardian along with directions of how to view grades in the PowerSchool Parent Portal or PowerSchool Mobile App.
