The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in Hoke County this afternoon. No injuries were reported, though several trees were downed. The tornado struck just south of Plank Road. The weather service says radar images and photos of the trees provided by Hoke Emergency Management confirm the tornado. Rainfall has been heavy with 1.63 inches of rain recorded downtown, and much higher amounts in other areas of the county.
