Ken and Holly MacDonald celebrated 40 years of marriage Sunday, May 24, 2020 by not taking a trip to New Mexico to see Richard Rhor and not driving up to Santa Fe to hike at Tsankawi mesa. The couple did not tour the art galleries nor did they dine at Café Pasqual’s.
The couple sure as heck did not take a cruise.
Instead the couple did not consult TripAdvisor, but instead renewed their vows in the kitchen—“I vow to try to make another 40 years,” and toasted to their many years of blessings, what with two children and three grandchildren. Lunch after virtual church with the aforementioned blessings was held outdoors on the patio, with social distancing measurements by The Engineer.
Music for the event was by the Robert Earl Keen station on Pandora through an Onyx Bluetooth speaker.
A platter of country ham, corn on the cob, mayonnaise-less slaw was served, and an entire watermelon was enjoyed solely by the grandson.
A key lime cake was later delivered by Anne MacDonald, thankfully after the lunch guests had left.
