Investigators with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men from Laurinburg last week in connection with reported breaking and entering.
Deputies arrested Matthew James Caldwell, 39, of the 6500 block of Crestline Road in Laurinburg and Christopher Dylan Young, 19, of the 12700 block of Birchwood Circle in Laurinburg on felony charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.
Deputies conducting a routine patrol in the area of Hoke Correctional prison reportedly saw a vehicle parked behind an open gate with items in the bed of the truck.
“An investigation revealed that the items in the bed of the truck had been stolen from a nearby structure,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
