Raeford ended its curfew this morning, effective at 8:52 a.m.
Hoke County Manager Letitia Edens says the county will take similar action today. The county’s curfew was enacted by the entire board of commissioners, and includes a provision that it will remain in effect until the commission ends it.
The curfews were put in place last week to ensure safety as the region hosted protests over the death of George Floyd and racism in general, and the memorial service for Floyd, held at Conference B Headquarters in Hoke County Saturday. Marchers, protesters and thousands who attended the viewing of Floyd’s body did so peacefully.
