Investigators with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office pursued two larceny suspects in a high-speed chase into Robeson County and arrested one person, while the other fled on foot.
Deputies called to the 200 block of Sand Rock Road in reference to a reported larceny reportedly observed a burgundy Chevrolet S-10 truck hauling an air conditioner unit in the bed. The truck matched a description given by Hoke County emergency communications. Deputies attempted to stop the truck, when the driver began to flee the area at a high rate of speed, according to a press statement from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies pursued the truck into Robeson County. With assistance from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, officers took one suspect into custody. A second suspect fled on foot.
Investigators arrested Brandi Lee Kelly, 24, of the 4200 block of Old Boardman Road in Evergreen on one count of felony larceny, one count of conspiracy to commit felony larceny and one misdemeanor count of injury to real property. Deputies arrested Kelly June 19. Kelly received a $3,000 bond.
Officers are still searching for the second suspect. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
