The News-Journal is asking local businesses in Raeford to decorate their windows and hand out candy to drive-thru trick-or-treaters to help children have fun this Halloween.
The drive-thru trick-or-treat is meant to help kids enjoy the evening while staying safe. Families can simply drive up to participating locations without getting out of their cars. Employees of participating locations, wearing masks and gloves, will hand out candy.
The News-Journal on West Elwood Avenue, and Raeford Flowers on Harris Avenue plan to participate, along with the Raeford-Hoke Chamber of Commerce. The News-Journal plans to publish a list of participating stops with addresses prior to Halloween. If your business in Raeford is interested in participating, email ken@thenews-journal.com or call (910) 875-2121 or (910) 875-2122. We ask that all participants handing out candy wear a mask and gloves.
The drive-thru trick-or-treat will be Saturday, October 31 from 6-8 p.m.
The News-Journal is also holding its annual Halloween costume contest Oct. 12-21. Submit photos online to www.thenews-journal.com/halloween. Photos will be published in the October 28 issue of The News-Journal.
