Home News Donations of food, socks and toys needed

People looking to give to those in need this winter can donate to a local socks and coat drive, or buy a toy online for the Toys for Tots program.

As the weather gets colder, not everyone has socks or a coat to stay warm. The Hoke County Open Door Soup Kitchen is holding a drive to collect socks and coats of all sizes to give away to those in need in the Hoke community.

To drop off a donation, go to the soup kitchen at 320 Turnpike Road in Raeford. For more information, contact Rev. Al Anderson at (404) 971-7408, Janice at (910) 703-4064 or Susan at (910) 813-4992.

The Raeford-Hoke Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations to support Toys for Tots of the North Carolina Inner Coastal Plain. Donors don’t even have to shop in person to select a toy to donate, they can shop online and donate a toy directly to Toys for Tots without needing to go out in public. Donors can also choose to give a monetary donation.

Toys for Tots of the Inner Coastal Plain provides toys for children in need in Hoke, Bladen, Duplin, Sampson, Wayne and Scotland counties. The coordinator is Carmen Jones. To shop online to donate a toy, go to https://yougivegoods.com/shop?drive=12986.
