Officers with the Raeford Police Department have arrested a man wanted in connection with a 2019 shootout at a gas station in Raeford.

Officers with the police department and the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Aaron Goode Jr., 26, of the 900 block of Stevens Street on two counts of felony attempted first-degree murder. Authorities arrested Goode November 17, after he was indicted on the charges by a Hoke County Grand Jury.

The charges are related to an August 18, 2019 shooting at a gas station in Raeford. Police accused Goode and another individual of firing gunshots at multiple people, according to a press release.

The shooting happened at the Valero gas station on Fayetteville Road shortly before 8 p.m. August 18, 2019. Authorities shortly after got into a chase with a suspect vehicle. The chase ended on Main Street in Raeford when the vehicle crashed into a utility pole, knocking out power to much of Raeford.
