The Department of Defense announced Thursday the death of an Air Force Chief Master Sergeant who lived in Raeford.
Chief Master Sergeant Tresse Z. King, 54, of Raeford, North Carolina, died August 3, 2021, in a non-combat related incident at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, the DOD said in a statement. The incident is under investigation.
She was assigned as squadron superintendent of the 96th Force Support Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, according to the DOD. King was serving in Kuwait supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
Funeral arrangements are still pending, an obituary stated. Lawrence Jackson Funeral Home of Laurinburg is providing services.
