Hoke County agencies are seeking people interested in helping make Christmas brighter for senior citizens and families in need this year.

Hoke County Senior Services is hosting an “angel tree” to help support seniors. An individual, business, church family or other organization can choose an ornament from the Christmas tree in the senior services office, located at 423 East Central Avenue in Raeford. The ornament will have information about a senior to “adopt” for Christmas.

Sample of items to purchase include blankets, personal care and hygiene items, scarves, hats, socks, word puzzles and snacks. All gifts need to be returned by 4 p.m. December 8 to Hoke County Senior Services. For more information, contact Hoke County Senior Services at (910) 875-8588.

The Hoke County Department of Social Services is also seeking Christmas sponsors for families in need this year. Anyone interested in sponsoring a family can contact the Hoke County Department of Social Services at (910) 878-1988 for more information.
