A Hoke County High School graduate is celebrating the publishing of her book meant to help people live more fulfilling lives.

Sylviette D. McGill’s book “90 Days To Your Better Self, An Interactive Guide to Self-discovery and Healing” is uniquely designed to provoke and stimulate thought to help readers attain self-sufficiency, a press release about the publication said. It is an “interactive guide that propels individuals toward a progressive and fulfilling way of life.”

“Certainly, it has been said a thousand times that we can be whoever we want to be and attain any goal we set for ourselves, but what I discovered is that nobody is really showing you how to reach the destination of your life. In this collection of thought-provoking topics that stimulate you to think and write about where you are on the map of your life, you will expound upon the daily topic which, in return, will route you back to yourself, because again, it’s all about you. If a book has ever been written about you, this is it!” McGill said in a description of her work.

McGill’s purpose and passion is to “help others help themselves” based on academics, life’s experience and a spiritually grounded upbringing, a press release said.

“She’s convinced that true success starts within and she is also excited to announce the publication has been published in another language. Perfect for book clubs, church groups, personal development projects, teenagers, couples and gift-giving,” information about the book said.

McGill was born in Southern Pines and grew up in Raeford. She graduated from Hoke County High School with the Class of 1982 and was among the top 15 graduates in her year. She worked at the News-Journal from 1985-1987 before moving to Virginia to pursue higher education. McGill holds degrees and certifications including B.S., M.Ed. and TESL.

Today McGill is an editor, writer, teacher and author who lives in Atlanta with her husband Michael as well as their two adult children and six grandchildren. She loves world travel, and her passionate hobbies include gardening, photography, reading, and entertaining to name a few.

“90 Days To Your Better Self, An Interactive Guide to Self-discovery and Healing” is published by Page Publishing. It is available at bookstores everywhere or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play and Barnes and Noble. Visit www.90daystoyourbetterself.com for more information.
