Carnival rides, food and games are coming to Hoke County this week as part of the 11th annual Hoke Fest.
Hoke Fest returns this June 3-12 at East Hoke Middle School on Fayetteville Road. Michael’s Amusements is back for 2022 to provide the midway activities and rides. This year Lumbee River EMC, Skydive Paraclete XP, Fit4Life Raeford and AOK Sanitations are on board as sponsors for the community event, a press release from organizers said.
“We will have plenty of food vendors, rides, games, and just good clean quality fun! Please come out and support Hoke Fest and let’s continue to bring events like these to our community!” the event release said.
There is no fee to come out and walk around, however, the organizers asked that people coming to Hoke Fest make a donation for parking. The Hoke County High School softball and basketball teams will be helping everyone park and to raise money for their programs.
There will also be security supported by the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office at Hoke Fest.
Coupons for Hoke Fest are being distributed through the school system and various locations around the county. There is a $4 off an unlimited ride wristband coupon. See the coupon for details.
Originally started in 2011 as part of the Hoke County Centennial celebrations, what was once the Centennial Celebration Carnival has come back year after year as Hoke Fest. The event is for the entire community and helps raise money for local youth programs, with proceeds going to the Hoke High basketball and softball programs this year.
“In 2017 we had our biggest week ever for Hoke Fest in which over 8,500 people attended the week-long carnival. Obviously 2020 was cancelled due to the virus, 2021 came back strong with Michaels Amusements on board and we will build on that for 2022,” organizers said in a press release.
