Several community organizations will hold events this month to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday.

Community Outreach Advocates will host a cookout to mark Bucktown Juneteenth Sunday, June 19 at Robbin Heights Park. The event will feature live music, giveaways, food and drinks, and fun games. Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Juneteenth Festival Saturday, June 18. The second annual event will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the church’s community resource center, located at 373 Pittman Grove Church Road. The festival will include Black art exhibits, historical perspectives, a Black history museum, live portrayals and family fun. There will be vendors, food trucks, music, a freedom march, historical artifacts and more.
