Women’s Golf is back on course for Hoke County High School
For the first time in more than five years, the Fighting Bucks are back on the links with a women's golf team.
Coaches Ivan Street and Kristen Danet have brought together a dedicated group of young women ready to represent Hoke County on the course. Ella Williams, Scarlet Wright, Ava Gibson, Madison OQuinn, AmberLynn Bullock and Audrianna Castellanos made history last week at King’s Grant Golf & Country Club in Fayetteville, teeing off in the team’s first 18-hole match of the season.
The scorecard will tell you who won the match. But some victories can’t be measured in strokes.
For Hoke County, the victory came the moment these six young women stepped onto the course wearing Fighting Bucks colors. After more than five years without a girls’ golf team, they've helped bring the program back simply by showing up, giving the next generation of Hoke County girls something to aim for. This may not be a win on the course, but it is a win for the Hoke County Community. (Contributed photo)
