Home News News-Journal launches fund drive to sustain coverage during epidemic

The News-Journal has created a special news fund to sustain coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations are now tax deductible—and vital to continue to provide vital information free to any citizen that wants it.

The News-Journal is providing its online coverage as a public service at www.hokenews.com and will continue to do so until the pandemic subsides.

To help fund the coverage, the paper is partnering with the Local Media Foundation, which allows readers, businesses and organizations to make tax-deductible contributions through the payment platform Givebutter.

The contributions help offset the loss of advertising revenue caused by the pandemic.

The News-Journal is in its 115th year of covering Raeford and Hoke County. The office, at 119 W. Elwood Avenue, is closed to the public, but staff are working remotely and can be reached by phone M-T 8-5 at 910-875-2121.
