Investigators with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people late last month for allegedly stealing from a construction site.

Deputies arrested Terrence Allen Chavis, 61, of the 7500 block of Maggie’s Circle in Fayetteville; Todd Anthony Chavis, 58, of the 8800 block of N.C. Highway 72 in Lumberton; and Chareasa Lasheka Brown, 35, of the 1100 block of Green Mill Road in Charleston. Each of the three suspects faces a felony charge of larceny from a construction site.

Officers responded March 30 to the 200 block of Bedford Drive regarding a report of three people allegedly taking items from the site.

“Three suspects were seen taking lumber from the construction site and placing the lumber in the back of a truck,” according to the sheriff’s office. Officers were able to reclaim and return the lumber to the site.

Authorities took the suspects into custody March 31. A magistrate set bond at $3,000 unsecured.
