Sally likely to bring rain event to our area

Home News Sally likely to bring rain event to our area

The National Weather Service says the remnants of Sally may track our way, providing rain of several to up to six inches. Early Wednesday there was significant disagreement in model tracks, and forecasters say who gets how much rain, and if any of it is severe, will depend on the track. “one thing that can be stated with high confidence right now,” the National Weather Service writes, “is that somewhere in central NC will see significant impacts from heavy rainfall associated with Sally`s remnants, between Thursday and Friday evening. Widespread heavy rainfall of 3 to 6 inches can be expected, with locally higher amounts, somewhere across central NC. Rainfall of this amount will bring a risk of flash flooding, followed by some River Flooding that could last through the weekend and into early next week. As such, will issue a Flash Flood Watch for all of central NC beginning Thursday morning and going through Friday evening.”
