The Rev. Al Anderson and other members of the faith community in Hoke County plan to hold a prayer walk Saturday in Raeford.
“As some of you are possibly already aware, Franklin Graham has scheduled a prayer walk in Washington, D.C. on September 26. Many have asked the question how to participate without traveling to D.C. Well, here’s the perfect way. We do the same here in Raeford/Hoke County,” Anderson said in an email.
The prayer walk is set to take place Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon. The gathering will meet at McLaughlin Park at 10 a.m. and walk to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, then walk to the Hoke County Courthouse before returning to the park for a final prayer for the church as a whole.
Members of the public are welcome to participate in the prayer walk. The event is not a protest march, and signs and loudspeakers are not allowed, the event planner stated in an email.
