Investigators with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man who turned himself in to authorities in connection with a shooting that happened earlier this month.

Deputies arrested Shawn Antonio Davis, 35, no address given, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Deputies had responded July 14 to a call on the 100 block of Lucy Lane in reference to a shooting. On arrival, they found victim Jabari Dozier suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Emergency medical services assisted him, and detectives began an investigation.

Davis turned himself in at the sheriff’s office July 20 to members of the Criminal Investigations Division. He received a $225,000 secured bond.
