Candidate for Hoke County Board of Commissioners 2020
1. Please tell voters a little about yourself, your background and experience.
Anderson is an influential 29 year old Hoke County native contesting for Commissioner. She runs the local Qwik Pack and Ship business center next to Walmart in Raeford. She has successful experience in financial management and customer service.
After a childhood of travel and exploration with military parents, Jecia returned to NC and became a graduate of Wingate University with a degree in psychology.
2. Why are you running for the commission?
Hoke county is my Home and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. I want to take an invested interest in Hoke County and be apart of the solution instead of complaining.
I’m a “take action” individual.
3. If elected for an upcoming four-year term, what are some of the things you hope to accomplish?
Growing in business
Growth in education
And growth within the community.
4. As a commissioner, what will you do going forward to address the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on Hoke County?
To make sure individuals are following the CDC guidelines and educate/inform local business owners on the benefits of making individuals wear a mask. I.e .
If an person files a compliant against your business because you aren’t requiring individuals to wear a mask, then you are opening yourself up to a lawsuit.
5. As a commissioner, how will you encourage economic growth in Hoke?
Promoting more small businesses first and then welcoming some bigger businesses that suite our county.
6. Would you support funding a new high school? What about other county-funded construction projects?
Yes, I’m for building a new high school and any other construction projects that will better our county by tapping into grants and other funding opportunities.
7. Hoke County currently has a property tax rate of 73 cents per $100, and in recent years the county’s General Fund balance has grown to over $27 million. What steps would you support in managing the county’s finances from here?

I’m a young motivated individual with dreams of advancing our county. I have a desire to enhance the world around me and as Commissioner I plan to enhance with growth.
